Veteran all-rounder to leave Kerala for Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha to rope in Wasim Jaffer

Aditya Sarwate had an exceptional campaign last year, where he scored over 250 runs and picked up 34 wickets too.

It is the season of migration for the domestic players, and after the report of Karun Nair and Jitesh Sharma switching their teams, the next on the list is all-rounder Aditya Sarwate, who played for Kerala last tournament. A new report in Cricbuzz suggests that Sarwate would be moving to Chhattisgarh.

Aditya Sarwate to Leave Kerala

“He has sought an NOC and we have issued it,” Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) secretary Vinod Kumar told Cricbuzz. It is interesting to note that the player had moved to Kerala only last year, from Vidarbha, and was instrumental in taking the team to its maiden Ranji Trophy final.

He went on to score 271 runs and picked up 34 wickets as well. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he scored 61 runs and picked up nine wickets. Meanwhile, Kerala also had the services of Jalaj Saxena and Baba Aparajith, and the latter duo will continue to play for the state. Just for the record, Chhattisgarh had a poor last season, where they failed to win even a single match and drew five, while losing two.

Wasim Jaffer Likely to Join Vidarbha

“It’s true that I have taken the NOC and am moving to Raipur. I am looking forward to the season and hope to help Chhattisgarh do well in the domestic circuit,” Sarwate said. On the other hand, Vidarbha might opt for Wasim Jaffer as the batting consultant for next year. Currently, the team is coached by Usman Ghani.
